Position Overview
The University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, is seeking candidates for a one semester appointment as an instructor (instructional faculty position) for the Fall, 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching PHPR 620:
Ethical, Legal, and Cultural Issues in Patient Care course for PharmD students.
Job responsibilities will include teaching PHPR 620, developing and facilitating educational experiences for this didactic class, and assessing student achievement via exams, quizzes, assignments, or other appropriate measures. The instructor will also provide office hours for students, either in-person or online.
Preferred candidates will have experience and training in healthcare ethics, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
The Instructor is an instructional faculty position that is not eligible for tenure or promotion in rank. This is a term appointment for the Fall 2026 semester. Renewal will be based upon unit needs and funding as well as performance that meets expectations, not to exceed two continuous semesters.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start date of the position.
Job Description100% Instructional Duties:
- Teaching PHPR 620, developing course materials, managing syllabi, creating lectures and assignments, grading student work, advising students, and holding office hours.
- Collaborating with colleagues, staying current in the field, and adhering to departmental, school/college, and university policies and procedures.
