CEAE Fall Grader-Student Hourly/Work Study
The Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering (CEAE) invites candidates to submit application materials for consideration as needs arise for Graders during the FALL, SPRING, AND SUMMER semesters.
Duties include grading homework and other work performed by students in various CEAE courses. The number of hours per week is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course.
Required Qualifications- Current student in the CEAE department or closely related discipline.
- Successful completion with a grade of at least a B in the CEAE course or equivalent you wish to grade.
- Successful completion at KU with a grade of A in the CEAE course you are assisting with;
- Be a student in the CEAE department.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
To be considered for a Grader position, candidates should submit a complete application including materials. A complete application consists of the online application and a clear indication of which course(s) you qualify for and would like to grade. You must CLEARLY indicate the course(s) in your application materials; failure to do so will disqualify you for a position. Applications will be accepted and positions filled on as needed basis.
When a department faculty has a need for a Grader, they will review the application materials in the position pool. If selected, the faculty will contact the applicant directly.
PLEASE INCLUDE THE COURSE NUMBER AND NAME (EX: CE 310 STRENGTH OF MATERIALS) AND INCLUDE INSTRUCTORS NAME IN THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE COVER LETTER.
