Job GoalThe job of Student Club Sponsor – Academic/Activity Clubs is to coordinate and guide student participants in club activities per applicable policies, promote participation, supervise students, and coach for competitive events and leadership development.
Performance Responsibilities- Assists the head sponsor in coordinating activity across the school year and summer.
- Guides students in setting program objectives and implementing activities.
- Participates in program meetings to provide guidance and ensure objectives are achieved.
- Promotes the program via fairs, announcements, flyers, increasing interest.
- Supervises student participants during activities and ensures safety.
- Transports students to and from scheduled events.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the unit.
- Supports the head sponsor and overall activity program of the Lawrence school system.
- Assumes responsibilities of head sponsor in their absence.
- Ability to speak clearly and audibly.
- Ability to analyze situations and provide prompt advice.
- Ability to respond to information requests courteously, timely, and helpfully.
- Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others.
- Ability to travel as needed.
If the applicant hired is a current USD 497 certified staff member, this position will have a stipend of $1,006 for the season.
If the applicant hired is not a current USD 497 certified staff member, they will be paid $7.25 per hour for hours worked.
Terms of EmploymentTwelve-month supplemental contract - salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated per the Board’s policy on Evaluation.
