Position Overview
Well‑Fit Center’s Athletic Development program is a youth strength and conditioning initiative designed to help elementary and middle school participants build athletic skills, confidence, and healthy habits in a fun, supportive environment.
As a Student Coordinator, you will assist with planning and leading exercise sessions focused on proper strength training, speed, agility, and fundamental movement skills. You will also manage sport performance testing and data analysis and help create a welcoming space where kids feel motivated and safe while learning lifelong wellness habits.
Responsibilities- 50% Lead exercise sessions.
- 25% Program development.
- 25% Manage and analyze sport performance data collected.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children and/or adolescents in a fitness, coaching, or youth development setting, as evidenced by application materials.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills, as evidenced by application materials.
- Availability to work in the Robinson Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (12 hours), as evidenced by application materials.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Excel and basic social media platforms, as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Student in KU’s Exercise Science program.
- During the semester term of appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre‑enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
- Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments do not apply to Student Hourly appointments.
- Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
- This is an hourly/non‑exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non‑exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
- Advertised Salary Range: $18.00 per hour.
