EECS Grader - Student Hourly
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) invites candidates to submit application materials for consideration as needs arise for Graders during the Summer 2026, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
100% duties include grading homework and other work performed by students in various EECS courses. The number of hours per week is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course. Position will be terminated if KU GPA falls below the required minimum of 3.0.
Required Qualifications- Current student in the EECS department or closely related discipline.
- Successful completion with a grade of B or better in the EECS course or equivalent you are assisting with.
- Maintain a minimum KU GPA of 3.0.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must:
1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or be enrolled in summer session or be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlys may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
Additional Candidate InstructionA completed application consists of the on-line application and a clear indication of which courses you qualify for and would like to grade for. PLEASE INCLUDE THE COURSE NUMBER AND NAME (e.g., EECS 388 EMBEDDED SYSTEMS) This is a POOL position to hire multiple Graders. Application review begins immediately. Applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year (Summer 2026, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027).
Only one application is needed per academic semester.
