Student Grader
- Pool

The Student Grader will support faculty by accurately and efficiently grading homework assignments for designated mathematics courses. This role requires a strong understanding of course material, as solution keys are not typically provided. Ideal candidates will have previously completed the course they are grading with a grade of A or B and must be capable of independently solving assigned problems. A solid foundation in undergraduate mathematics is essential, including successful completion of at least one Calculus course.

Graders must demonstrate attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to provide timely and fair evaluation of student work.

100% – Grading Homework Assignments via Canvas

  • Review and evaluate student homework submissions for assigned mathematics courses using the Canvas learning management system.
  • Apply consistent grading practices based on instructor guidelines and the course's grading rubric.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback where appropriate to support student learning.
  • Ensure grades are entered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and academic performance in accordance with FERPA guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience completing complex homework assignments independently, without reliance on provided solution keys (e.g., prior success in upper-level math courses or independent coursework).
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills, as evidenced by high academic performance in mathematics courses (grade of A or

    B), and consistent accuracy in quantitative work or prior grading/tutoring roles.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid foundation in undergraduate-level mathematics, demonstrated through successful completion of multiple advanced math courses (e.g., Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations).
