Responsibilities
- Lead process development and optimization for manufacturing operations, including plastics injection molding, CNC machining, and assembly lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues affecting production quality or efficiency and implement corrective actions.
- Develop detailed schematics, CAD models, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Solid Works, Creo, and other CAD tools.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, vision inspection systems, and CNC equipment to ensure seamless operation.
- Design tooling, fixtures, and fabrication setups to support manufacturing processes.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams on welding, tooling design, mechanical assembly, and industrial equipment integration.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and maintain documentation for process validation and quality assurance.
- Provide technical guidance on industrial engineering projects related to process automation, robotics integration, and factory layout improvements.
- Support factory experience initiatives by developing scalable processes that enhance productivity while maintaining safety standards.
- BS in Engineering or in another discipline with equivalent experience - 4+ years hands-on experience with equipment, processes, and systems. Master’s degree in engineering discipline preferred.
- Certifications and experience in program management, ISO Quality Systems and commissioning preferred. Familiar with ISPE Good Engineering Practices guidelines.
- Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing facility or industrial engineering environment.
- Strong background in plastics injection molding, robotics programming (including vision systems), CNC programming (CAM), GD&T principles, and CAD software such as Solid Works or Creo.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial equipment troubleshooting, welding techniques, tooling design, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement strategies.
- Familiarity with factory automation systems including robot programming and vision inspection systems.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings for mechanical components and industrial systems.
- Experience working in ISO 9001-certified environments is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with project scheduling skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
