Davis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team! This position can be based in our Greenville or Greenwood, SC office. We are a multi-disciplined firm that has been providing quality engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will become part of a team that provides environmental and civil engineering services to a wide variety of clients.
The ideal candidate will work in a strong team environment of highly motivated professionals for a family owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality.
- Coordinate and work on specialized environmental projects, environmental compliance and monitoring programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public, industrial, and commercial facilities
- Interact with local and state environmental agencies, direct communication with clients, and develop internal and external marketing strategies to assist in department growth
- Ability to perform business development, sales, and client management is required
- Correspond with clients and regulatory agencies by phone, in writing and in person to communicate and establish expectations
- Write proposals and bids
- Oversee the work of staff engineers and technical subordinates
- Industrial Wastewater Treatment design, permitting, and compliance.
- Air Permitting (Title V – minor), modeling and compliance. Understanding of federal and state air quality regulations and policies and emerging regulatory programs
- Industrial Stormwater and SPCC Plans, implementation planning, and training
- Prepare environmental compliance audits, compliance reports and plans, and other technical documents
- Help clients comply with federal, state, air, water, and waste regulatory requirements
- Ability to prepare/coordinate all levels of NEPA studies and oversee a team of planners preparing these documents
- Due Diligence (Phase I/Phase II ESA’s/Voluntary Cleanup Contracts)
- Noise Studies, modeling, and mitigation plans
- Asbestos and lead‑based‑paint surveys, abatement, and demolition planning

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
- Minimum of 12 years experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and development and implementation of programs
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations
- Ability to manage and clearly communicate with staff and clients
- Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS
- Project Management Skills including interaction with local and state environmental agencies, direct communication with clients, and develop internal and external marketing strategies to assist in department growth
- Valid drivers’ license and acceptable driving record required
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
