Job Description

This role focuses on the design and analysis of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, low-voltage systems, and lighting. The Electrical Design Engineer develops detailed design documents, supports construction activities, and collaborates closely with internal teams and clients. Responsibilities

* Design power distribution systems, including development of riser diagrams and panel schedules.

* Develop low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.

* Design lighting systems, including fixture selection, lighting controls, and performing lighting calculations.

* Design and coordinate low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, security, and control systems.

* Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop to ensure safe and efficient system performance.

* Perform field surveys to gather existing conditions and verify installation requirements.

* Provide construction phase support, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing field conditions.

* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design teams to ensure integrated project solutions.

* Use design tools such as Revit to produce accurate and coordinated electrical design documents.

* Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.

* Contribute to capital expenditure projects across multiple states as part of an on-call engineering team.

* Support high-profile client projects as one of a small team of dedicated electrical engineers.

Essential Skills

* 7+ years of electrical design experience in building or infrastructure projects.

* Demonstrated experience with MEP design and coordination.

* Proficiency in electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

* Experience using Revit for electrical design and documentation.

* Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification.

* Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

* Effective communication skills for working with clients and internal stakeholders.

* Strong client relationship skills with a focus on service and responsiveness.

* Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

* A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
