Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing heating-ventilation-cooling systems, plumbing systems, and refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in mechanical design and be adept at coordinating with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

• Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
• Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
• Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings where food and other perishable goods are stored.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment.
• Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.
• Manage multiple projects within established schedules.
• Work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexity.
• Prepare construction cost estimates, both in a broad and detailed scope.
• Assist in the development of contract specifications and research new procedures and/or products.
• Perform all work safely and responsibly, following the Health and Safety Plan.
• Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Revit, mechanical design, MEP design, HVAC design, and refrigeration.
• 2+ years of Mechanical Design experience and refrigeration design.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is family-oriented with a small team of 10 employees in a bullpen-like office setting. There is an opportunity for hybrid work after demonstrating the ability to perform. Full-time benefits are very generous, and relocation packages are available for those moving to Lawrence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
