Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $19.35 hourly. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Duties of the Position

Duties of this position include planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of mandatory participants enrolled in an Employment Services program. Responsibilities include engaging with clients to gather initial information, assess skills and abilities, develop individualized plans and provide intensive case management while coordinating a network of services that may assist the client with education needs, job readiness and/or job placement, resulting in decreased reliance on safety net programs, obtaining job placement and achieving self‑sufficiency.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining participant records, completing data entry, and journaling case notes for reporting purposes.

At times, the position requires working with non‑motivated, unresponsive recipients and the incumbent must have strong communication skills to overcome participant barriers.

The position will advocate for participants in assessing needs, exploring alternatives, and referring the participants to appropriate services both within and outside the agency, and coordinate services with local staff, employers, other state agencies, and community partners to avoid duplication and enhance mutual outcomes.

The incumbent also assists in planning, coordinating, and developing employment and training opportunities for participants, developing relationships with employers and community agencies, and providing information to community agencies and the public about available services. This may include serving on advisory boards or public speaking.

In addition, the incumbent communicates with the Community Engagement Coordinator and Program Administrator to implement employer development activities that are region specific, to meet performance outcomes for Employment Services. The incumbent assists in identifying and implementing job fairs, hiring events and other client opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency’s programs. Post‑secondary education may be substituted for experience. Valid Driver’s License. If a driver’s license is required, a copy must be sent to the recruiter following the interview.

Preferred Qualifications

One year experience with job placement and/or employer development, structured case management, determining eligibility for Human Service programs, or two years of relevant education.
