Overview
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy. Our office is looking for someone with integrity and the desire to do the job effectively. This position is responsible for performing uniformed patrol duties as well as enforcing all federal, state, and local laws as well as municipal STOs and UPOCs. Duties also include some interaction with inmates in the jail, VIN inspections, and civil standbys.
Lincoln County does not contain any police departments in their municipalities. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office maintains an enforcement contact with the cities of Lincoln and Sylvan Grove. Lincoln County Deputies provide coverage over 700 square miles including Kansas Highways K-18, K-14, K-181, K-252 and K-232 as well as seven miles of Interstate 70.
- Perform uniformed patrol duties and enforce federal, state, and local laws, as well as municipal STOs and UPOCs.
- Interact with inmates in the jail, conduct VIN inspections, and handle civil standbys as needed.
- Provide coverage over 700 square miles including Kansas Highways K-18, K-14, K-181, K-252, and K-232 as well as seven miles of Interstate 70.
- No Felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to lawfully possess a firearm
- Possess at least a high school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Uniforms and equipment furnished

- May reside within a 30-minute response time to the Lincoln County line
- Take home patrol vehicle (If you live in Lincoln County)

- 12-hour workdays with every other weekend off
- Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
