Position OverviewVisiting Nurses Association (VNA) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Home Health team. This position provides high-quality rehabilitative services to patients in their homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
The PTA plays a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, increase independence, and improve overall functional outcomes. If you are passionate about patient-centered care and enjoy working autonomously in a community-based setting, we encourage you to apply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy services in accordance with the plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and other skilled interventions.
- Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
- Accurately complete required documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with agency policy and Medicare guidelines.
- Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques.
- Maintain compliance with agency policies, HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and all federal and state home health regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current, active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Kansas.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel within the assigned service area.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Previous Home Health experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation for Home Health.
- Field-based position requiring travel to patient homes within the VNA service area.
