Essential Functions
- Schedules and hosts Quarterly Meetings in assigned area
- Reviews and completes BI progress reports
- Reviews progress reports for assigned cases
- Completes Observation Reports of staff in assigned area
- Observes Behavioral Interventionists in assigned location quarterly, per case as assigned by Supervisor
- Shadows shifts with newly hired Behavioral Interventionists as assigned by Supervisor
- Provides insight, ideas and answers questions of Behavioral Interventionists
- Reports to Supervisor any issues or concerns observed while shadowing newly hired Behavioral Interventionists or existing Behavioral Interventionists
- Assists Behavioral Interventionist Supervisor in program data management and quality improvement
- Tracks child behaviors through recorded assessment scores
- Reviews neuro-stim activity spreadsheet per staff
- Maintains waitlist for assigned area and follows up with referring parties
- Collaborates and identifies pathways for areas of improvement
- Reviews electronic client record for required documentation
- Provides audit review to BI staff for follow-up
- Follow ups on requested documentation
- Assists in new hire on-the-job training and shadowing
- Provides initial and ongoing on-the-job training to Behavioral Interventionist staff
- Provides initial documentation training and requirements of daily progress notes
- Discusses and demonstrates the role of the Behavioral Interventionist in the home
- Provides CPI training for new hires and annual training renewals
- Assists Behavioral Interventionist Supervisor with establishing a list of monthly training courses
- Coordinates shadowing opportunities for new staff
- Assists in internal collaboration with departments in assigned area
- Provides in-person introduction to BI program for internal staff and partners
- Maintains NRC in assigned location
- Tracking spreadsheet of checked in/ checked out items
- Maintenance duties
- Gather and request inventory
- Provides emergency support to Behavioral Interventionist staff and families in assigned area
- Available 24/7 to families and staff for support
- Assists Behavioral Interventionist Supervisor in completion of aftercare for assigned area
- Maintains own case load and provides direct service to clients; minimum of 15 billable hours per week
- Provides one-on-one services to clients enrolled in the Behavioral Interventionist program, following requirements and policies of agency, contracts, state regulations and COA standards at all times
- Maintains strong, open communication with caregivers of clients to ensure service efficacy and approval of agenda and activities during shifts. Adheres to family routines and structure as established
- Provides direct supervision to clients
- Assists clients through completion of daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills
- Provides direction, coaching, and approved intervention strategies from Bruce Perry's trauma-informed brain stimulating activities
- Adheres to the goals established in the client's treatment plan to help youth work toward and achieve treatment goals
- Models positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques
- Completes all shift documentation within twenty-four (24) hours of a shift worked
- Participates as an active team member by attending and participating in all scheduled staff meetings and professional development trainings
- Meets with client's professional team and attends court hearings as requested by Supervisor
- Participates in monthly supportive supervision with direct Supervisor
- Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours
- Assists with and facilitates psychosocial groups as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma required; bachelor s degree preferred
- At least one (1) year of experience working with youth with elevated behavioral needs preferred
- Must successfully complete Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within two weeks of hire
- Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppression
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability; able to shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations
- Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families
- Must possess a valid state Driver s License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization s insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position
