Housekeeping Supervisor
Shift: Full-time
Rate: $19 - $20/hr. (depending on experience)
Position Summary: The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the housekeeping team to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and sanitary for residents, staff, and visitors. This role includes daily inspection of rooms and common areas, scheduling and training staff, maintaining cleaning protocols, and promoting high standards of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff on daily responsibilities and expectations
- Develop and manage housekeeping schedules and assignments
- Inspect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas for cleanliness and sanitation
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety standards, and state regulations
- Order and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Coordinate deep-cleaning schedules and seasonal tasks (e.g., floor waxing, curtain washing)
- Respond to concerns or special requests from residents, families, and nursing staff
- Report maintenance needs and safety concerns to the appropriate departments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in housekeeping/environmental services required
- Experience in a long-term care, healthcare, hospital, or hospitality setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, safety procedures, and infection control
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment
