The Manager of Contracting supports the Contracting team in the negotiation of payer contracts along with other managed care related duties.
Responsibilities- Build relationships with key payer network managers and representatives
- Assist National Managed Care Contracting team in essential functions
- Evaluate managed care proposal contracting terms and rates
- Partner with the Clinical Transformation Manager on value-based contract goals and initiatives by reviewing provider performance reports from health plans to develop action plans to remedy outliers
- Field routine questions on managed care issues/concerns from providers
- Represent contracting as internal subject matter expert on other projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4+ years relevant work experience in healthcare contracting, network management, healthcare pricing, healthcare economics or related field
- Commercial, Medicare and/or Medicaid Managed Care Contract negotiation experience for health plan, hospital or physician group
- Intermediate knowledge of CINs and ability to collaborate with entity and providers
- Intermediate knowledge of Value Based negotiations
- Experience interpreting healthcare contracts and modeling financial impact of contract changes (with analyst support)
- Comfortable communicating and presenting data and insights
- Requires a high level of initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external contacts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Up to 20% travel required
