Job Description
*
* Schedule:

*** M-F
* 5 x 8 hr shifts with minimal callThe
** Surgical Technologist
** functions as a member of the patient care team, under the supervision of the physician, registered nurse and/or the unit director.  This position provides technical skills in the role of the surgical scrub during operative procedures.## ##
** Responsibilities
* ** Promotes the vision, mission and PI philosophy of LMH.
* Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to promote teamwork, collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient services.
* Performs skills from skills checklist accurately.
* Participates in performance improvement activities, initiating improvement through proper channels.
* Respects and demonstrates confidentiality.
* Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
* Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and advancing professional competency, meeting educational requirements pertinent to practice.
* Demonstrates flexibility regarding scheduling.
* Adheres to safety policies and procedures and displays knowledge of hospital’s emergency code procedures.
* Participates in staff meetings.
* May participate in QA, PI activities and other hospital committees.
* May participate in communications with the surgical representatives with the various vendors.
* Demonstrates expertise with instrumentation, setting up the case and physician preferences.
* Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
* Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
** Qualifications
* **
* Required:

*** Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program, or 5 years of scrub technician experience or hospital surgical technologist experience.
* BLS Certification
** Preferred:
*** Recent six to twelve months of Surgical Technologist experience in the Operating Room
