Job Description

Medical Asst, Staff Flex contract, 13 weeks

$39.82/hr

Full-time;
Mon – Fri, 7:30a – 4:00p

No call

American Heart Association BLS, required before hire

Customer Service experience [Required]

Phlebotomy experience [Required]

Vaccine administration experience [Required]

Other duties as assigned. Supports staff teamwork, maintains confidentiality of patient information, and continuously strives to improve patient satisfaction. Manages front office responsibilities, including appointment bookings, insurance verification, patient check-in, and check-out processes. Completes chart preparation and abstraction activities prior to patient visits, ensuring all necessary lab, imaging, and referral information is available. Rooms patients, conducts screenings, takes medical histories, records vital signs, and performs medication reconciliation.

Prepares patients and examination rooms for physical assessments or procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Educates patients on tests, medications, and dietary information, and administers prescribed medications and treatments. Ensures medical equipment is functioning properly, maintains adequate supplies, and ensures medications are not expired. Responds to and returns telephone calls related to clinical needs, triages appropriately, and assists with referrals as needed.

Completes logs for CLIA compliance and other regulatory requirements, and follows policies on cleaning and sterilization of instruments. Assists with the completion of prior authorizations, worker’s compensation paperwork, and other administrative tasks.

Education
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Work Experience
  • Customer service experience in medical office [Preferred]
