This adult maximum-security correctional facility operates under the state department of corrections and is situated in Butler County, approximately 30 miles northeast of Wichita. The facility is located just east of El Dorado along a major highway in a rural setting outside the main community. Behavioral health services are delivered on-site within a structured correctional environment supported by a multidisciplinary care team that includes therapists, NPs, and MDs, serving an inpatient population of approximately 250.

El Dorado, located in south-central Kansas, offers a range of outdoor and cultural attractions suited to diverse interests. El Dorado State Park features a lake with swimming beaches, camping sites, and hiking trails, as well as a bike path connecting the lake to several parks. Visitors may also explore the Kansas Oil Museum, the Coutts Museum of Art - home to over 1,000 works - and the WWII History Center, while local establishments such as Walnut River Brewing Company and Speedtrap Distillery round out the available options.

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will provide individual and group therapy to an adult inpatient correctional population on a full-time day shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week, managing a caseload of 15-20 patients per day. The clinician will conduct clinical evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and screenings to identify treatment needs and develop individualized treatment plans, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include responding to behavioral health crises, conducting suicide risk assessments, and collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, correctional staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Additional duties include supporting discharge and reentry preparation as well as rehabilitation-focused behavioral health programming designed to improve emotional functioning and encourage positive behavioral change.
