The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is led by Secretary Janet Stanek, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Dec 2021. KDHE is comprised of three divisions:
Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, Kan Care). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well‑being of all Kansans.

• Hourly Pay Range: $27.61 - $30.46

Position Summary:

The Project Manager position (K0221842) is responsible for developing and maintaining project charters, project plans, communication plans, and schedules;
Coordinate project team meetings and working sessions;
Track milestones, dependencies, critical path items, and deadlines;
Identify resource constraints;
Coordinate with management to resolve conflicts;
Maintain project risk, issue, action, and decision logs;
Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies;
Escalate critical risks and issues;
Provide timely and accurate project status reporting;
Coordinate decision‑making and ensure documentation of key decisions;
Coordinate transition to operational support teams;
Facilitate lessons learned and project close out activities.

• Coordinate project activities involving external vendors.
• Monitor vendor deliveries, timelines, and contractual obligations.
• Track vendor performance against project commitments.
• Facilitate review and acceptance of vendor deliverables.
• Escalate vendor performance concerns through appropriate channels.

• Education:
  • High School, GED
• Licensing & Certification:
  • Valid Driver's License
    - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience
