Job Description
Molding Process Technicians assist in safely optimizing and maintaining the performance of the injection molding equipment and the product being produced.
Daily Responsibilities- Report cavitation and cycle time per assigned aisle to production.
- Maintain as close to full cavitation and standard cycle as possible.
- Maintain assigned aisle and perform machine startups, shutdowns, and restarts as needed.
- Prep and complete IML or color changes and assist with mold changes.
- Assist with other aisles based on workload and shift supervisor direction.
- Understand all materials used (resin, color, additive).
- Know and follow all safety rules, GMP’S, SQF, and HACCP rules.
- Know where all safety guards are and their purpose.
- Identify hazards of equipment and how to safely control said hazards (LOTO).
- Inspect and maintain 5S, housekeeping, and equipment; report any items not running to standard.
- Complete assigned PM’s; clean, inspect, and lubricate molds outside PM’s as needed.
- Wipe down mold face/parting line, clean suction cups, and inspect hoses on assigned machines.
- Utilize process sheets and change logs to maintain optimal procedure.
- Complete Gemba walks with incoming and outgoing shifts.
- Provide summary and upcoming changes to incoming shift and discuss ongoing work with outgoing shift.
- Troubleshoot quality defects or machine issues; determine root cause and involve appropriate departments.
- Complete all required training.
- Have a good work and attendance record.
- Possess mechanical aptitude.
- Be able to work extended shifts and weekends as necessary.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess good math and computer skills.
- Have a good safety record.
- Problem solving skills.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and stretch regularly.
- Ability to work around grease, oil, and solvents without adverse reaction.
- Must be able to differentiate colors.
2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
PayStarting pay: $21.53/hr, plus $0.75/hr shift differential
