Location Description
The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.
Responsibilities
Material Handler
Pay Rate: $24.45 per hour
The Post Consumer Brands facility in Lawrence, KS operates on a 24/7 production schedule. This position will work:
* C Shift - Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and every other Friday 6:00am - 6:00pm
* D Shift - Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and every other Friday 6:00pm - 6:00am
* B Shift - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and every other Friday 6:00pm - 6:00am
* Shift premiums: up to $1.50 per hour
In the Material Handler role, you will:
* Operate forklifts to load and unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer needs
* Maintain forklifts and other equipment to reduce/eliminate downtime
* Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety
* Actively participate in team meetings and training
* Assist with the sanitation of warehouse
* Complete routine computer-based-trainings (CBTs)
Qualifications
The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:
* Possess a high school diploma or a GED
* Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy
* Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Forklift experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
* Ability to comply with PCB Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs)
* Ability to comply with a captive uniform policy; daily PPE will include a hairnet, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves when necessary, and a beard net when necessary.
