The Operations Supervisor leads the front‑line production team, overseeing the entire manufacturing process from yield tracking to real‑time adjustments. The role ensures safety and USDA health standards are met, maintains quality for Smithfield brands, guides and motivates staff, drives clear communication, maximizes efficiency, and oversees routine maintenance of equipment and facilities.

• Perform daily inspections on the production floor to identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action.
• Lead safety audits, champion ergonomic initiatives, and ensure adherence to HACCP and USDA regulations.
• Maintain product quality by enforcing Food Safety and Food Quality plans and training employees on safe operating procedures.
• Track and analyze production yields, efficiencies, and variances; collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to improve workflows and minimize downtime.
• Direct and provide guidance to hourly production employees, aligning safety, quality, and production goals.
• Lead monthly line meetings and conduct daily floor walks.
• Analyze key product performance metrics and suggest changes to enhance production efficiency and quality.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in Business or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience acting as a lead through training, coaching, or mentoring less experienced staff or managing a process or project.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical, mathematical abilities.
• Skill at motivating, training, and coaching employees to achieve peak performance in a respectful, team‑oriented environment.
• Adaptability to fast‑paced, dynamic environments; willingness to work long hours, weekends, and in varying conditions (heat and cold).
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

• Proficiency with SAP, internet tools, spreadsheets, Word, order processing, and inventory software.
• Experience in food processing, leadership, and manufacturing, especially knowledge of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures.
• Bonus:
  Bilingual proficiency.

The plant environment may include wet or humid conditions, extreme heat and cold, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels can vary from moderate to loud in the production area. The role may require lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required activities include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel;

reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and talking or hearing.

Relocation package available. The role requires travel up to 5% of the time.
