As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Production Coordinator in Lawrence, KS.

ESSENTIAL

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Coordinates with Supervisor in assigning work to meet on-time production and quality goals. This includes but is not limited to staging, trailer availability, staffing, etc.
  • Controls the workflow within the area of responsibility to meet efficiency targets, minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Requires the ability to train people and serve as a coach to Team Members. Performs On-the-job training and line and production orientation for new hires.
  • Records accurate data on production, labor, team members, and scrap on a timely basis. Follows up with team members on accurate production reporting. Completes shift paperwork.
  • Ensures accuracy of inventory and inventory management.
  • Required to ensure all purchased and manufactured material are available when needed to meet production goals.
  • Works with Maintenance and Manufacturing personnel to provide information on matters relative to machine downtime.
  • Ensures safety best practices are followed by Team Members at all times.
  • Ensures all quality standards for the production area are being met.
  • Performs quality checks.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, point out areas where improvement is needed, and develop a positive relationship with employees to develop credibility.
  • Is results-oriented and can motivate others.
  • Must fill in for Department Supervisor in their absence.
  • Must obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Maintains security of buildings, grounds, equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.
THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED
  • Area of responsibility:
    Hands-on Line.
  • Leads by example with excellent attendance, influential interpersonal skills and high desire to succeed for the customer.
  • Facilitates on-the-job training for all new and existing team members for job certifications and performance evaluations.
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of products and timely completion of schedules.
  • Maintains an efficient workforce in accordance with job requirements, work levels and schedules, manpower requirements and training programs.
  • Ensures the appropriate use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping, and maintains a constant vigilance for hazardous conditions and practices. Ensures a clean and safe work area.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs unassisted repeatedly and frequently overhead. Lifting more than 45 lbs requires team lifting of at least 2 people.
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects ranging from 45 lbs to 80 lbs. Weights over 45 lbs require teamwork of at least 2 people.
  • Must stand or walk for extended periods of time (8‑12 hours daily).
  • Must move about the manufacturing floor safely and efficiently.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs and/or ladders may be required for specific work tasks.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require using hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity and hand‑to‑eye coordination with hand/power tools.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, tablet, and/or scanner may be required for specific work tasks.
  • Must work in hot and cold environments.
MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/​SKILLS)
  • Capable of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Possesses efficient and productive organizational, time‑management, and analytical skills.
  • Possesses mechanical competence and knowledge of safety-conscious practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and inventory management.
  • Must obtain a forklift license and certification within 45 days from hire date.
  • Must pass the qualification forklift exam prior to interview (internal candidates only).
