Job Description
As an Assistant Group Leader, you will be responsible for guiding employees to maintain a safe, positive working environment while meeting production needs.
Responsibilities and qualifications are described below.
Responsibilities- Promote and ensure a safe working environment. This includes reporting on leading indicators (near misses, first aids, CARs, etc.) and leading pre-shift safety talks.
- Ensure the company’s Quality Vision Statement is understood and adhered to.
- Accomplish departmental goals set by Director of Molding Operations and Supervisors.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are met and/or exceeded.
- Update, monitor, and record daily staffing and job assignments.
- Manage and control labor and allocate labor resources accordingly.
- Spend the majority of time on the floor; be visible and available.
- Maintain positive professional working relationships with all employees and support departments. Lead, inspire, encourage, and empower.
- Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor to manage daily labor needs and staffing schedules that meet production needs.
- Train to deal with personnel issues and ensure company policies are followed.
- Complete Front-Line leadership training.
- Be trained to handle emergency situations (Fire, Inclement Weather, Accidents, etc.)
- In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, serve as the emergency point of contact.
- Coordinate with support groups to minimize downtime and idle time.
- Collaborate with Process Techs to implement MEEF and EFF improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with QA to oversee that defects are identified and corrected.
- Work with Process Techs on completion of PMs and on Web Eff reporting, ensuring coding and comments are correct.
- Navigate and extract information from JDE and CPRO.
- Provide shift turnover briefings.
- Fill in for Shift Supervisor when needed.

- Injection molding experience (helpful)
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds regularly
- Ability to climb up and down ladders
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop and stretch regularly
- Ability to work around grease, oil and solvents without adverse reaction
- Must be able to differentiate color
