Position: Production Support Specialist (36) - 3rd Shift

Job Overview

You’ll be at the heart of our production center, helping millions of customers across the world enjoy Hallmark products. You will have a variety of duties that support the production process in numerous ways. You’ll be cross‑trained across multiple departments by a support team of trainers and supervisors to help you learn every step of the way!

Salary and Shift Details
  • Your starting pay will be between $19.80 and $22.65, depending on your shift.
  • This position is full‑time (5 days per week) on the 3rd shift from 11:30 pm to 7:30 am, Sunday night through Friday morning. Flexibility is available – we may accommodate other shift times, if applicable.
Responsibilities

Production Support Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Preparing greeting card stock for the cutter.
  • Jogging, skidding, and moving stock to the cutter.
  • Carrying stock to skids and moving finished skids into the outgoing area.
  • Conducting complete make‑ready, run, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Removing die‑cut cards from full sheets using a hammer or an Automatic Card Extractor (ACE).
  • Performing make‑readies on the ACE and preparing rails/bars and press set‑up.
  • Sampling and stacking cards onto skids according to register, blockouts, salvage, and spoilage.
  • Determining when adhesive is mixed and when tests will be performed.
  • Ensuring adhesive ingredients are available for mixing.
  • Supporting Webtron press operators with set‑up, changeover, and machine adjustments.
  • Ordering correct stock, moving components, inputting data, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Participating in performance dialogues and team problem‑solving activities.
  • Operating a Gem/Cello machine, wholesale sealer, accumulator, shrink tunnel, and lift truck as required.
  • Delivering paperwork, packing finished goods, and tracking stock.
  • Identifying potential problems and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrating flexibility for moving to different work assignments.
Important Things to Know
  • The position may span several departments and require multiple assignments.
  • Production areas involve noise; hearing protection is provided.
  • Overtime is available and will be discussed during the interview.
In This Position You Will
  • Perform make‑ready duties on Gem/Cello machines, ACE press, and Webtron presses.
  • Set up wholesale sealers and pack product into shipping containers; mix adhesives and ensure availability of ingredients.
  • Execute the quality system including preflight, sampling, and removal of salvage/spoilage.
  • Perform quality and adhesive tests, reporting results promptly.
  • Plan and maintain workflow, order and deliver stock, cartons, and components.
  • Achieve and continually improve specified production goals and throughput.
  • Conduct regular press maintenance and cleaning, including TPMs.
  • Transport hazardous waste following regulations; be certified to operate power lift equipment and skid‑inverting machine.
  • Communicate information to the next shift for consistency.
  • Adhere to good safety practices.
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to grip and push/pull lifts of stock 2 – 3.5 in thick, 80–120 times per hour.
  • Ability to lift 20–30 lb stacks of stock, 60–80 times per hour, with frequent lifting of 40–60 lb during the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level continuously.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist motions and fine‑motor skills.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
