POSITION SUMMARY

The NAACP Empowerment Programs, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for equal rights, seeks a Corporate Relations Officer, who is

  • Self-motivated and highly organized , with exceptional attention to accuracy; is flexible with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously; and has a keen passion for racial equity and social justice and strong alignment with NAACP’s mission and values.
  • The Corporate Relations Officer will lead the generation and cultivation of unique corporate partnerships for significant social impact from the grassroots to national level as a frontline fundraiser and relationship manager. The Corporate Relations Officer will implement an integrated strategic partnership program; manage a portfolio of current and prospective corporate investors and partners; and support a comprehensive strategy to grow the NAACP’s network, presence, and influence, with an emphasis on engaging key influencers in the business community.

The Chief Strategy Office (CSO) leads and oversees the development, communication, and execution of the NAACP’s mission-driven strategies. The CSO is primarily responsible for the alignment and integration of the Association’s goals throughout all levels of the organization. This focus includes various high-impact initiatives, leveraging strategies leading to sustainable growth, a comprehensive policy agenda, and innovation.

The Development Team consists of three pillars: individual giving, institutional giving, and development operations. The individual and institutional giving teams are comprised of gifts officers focused on frontline fundraising, who oversee a comprehensive moves management process to identify potential donors and steward them through their giving journey with the NAACP.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Under the direction of the Development Director, the Corporate Relations Officer will perform the following duties, to include, but not limited to:

  • As a frontline fundraiser and relationship officer, coordinate stewardship, solicitation, and prospecting of corporate donors to meet annual fundraising targets;
  • In partnership with the Institutional Giving team, secure and build strategic partnerships with the business community to accelerate awareness and interest in the NAACP;
  • Manage a portfolio of companies and organizations capable of gifts of up to $1M, including existing and prospective donors, securing renewals, and increasing their support over time;
  • Support various fundraising initiatives including the Capital and Endowment Campaigns;
  • Implement comprehensive and integrated corporate engagements for support and meaningful opportunities for corporations to support the NAACP, as well as specific events or programmatic initiatives;
  • Provide high-touch stewardship of current donors through stewardship reports, acknowledgement letters, and frequent written communication;
  • Assist in corporate research and the effective use of contact management systems and processes to oversee corporate donor acknowledgements and track pertinent donor and prospect information in Salesforce;
  • Assist with the planning of fundraising and cultivation events geared towards overall fundraising efforts in partnership with Development and Communications staff;
  • Represent the NAACP at events and convenings featuring priority donors, partners, and influencers; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Development Director or other designee.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience fundraising at mission-driven nonprofit organizations or in a comparable business development or advocacy environment;
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including funders, organizational leaders, and team members at all levels of the organization;
  • Outstanding written communication skills with experience creating compelling proposals to secure funding;
  • Previous experience with donor databases and/or CRMs, preferably Salesforce;
