Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of trust and respect by effectively communicating essential information with associates.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote teamwork and achieve store goals.
  • Establish performance targets and empower associates to meet or exceed them.
  • Develop effective schedules to manage customer demand throughout operational hours.
  • Train and guide associates in their roles, participating actively in performance appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies.
  • Create a welcoming customer environment by being knowledgeable about our products and promoting specials and samples.
  • Skillfully cut seafood to meet customer specifications while maintaining product freshness.
  • Prepare foods according to strict temperature logs and cooking guidelines.
  • Work in partnership with management to develop and implement an impactful business plan for the department.
  • Keep associates informed about current and upcoming in-store promotions.
  • Conduct seasonal performance critiques for sales and merchandising oversight.
  • Effectively monitor and control departmental expenses.
  • Assist management with budget preparation, profit and loss reviews, and action plans based on financial reports.
  • Update prices and promotional signage according to routine scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with country of origin labeling and regulations.
  • Plan, organize and manage the inventory processes proficiently.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and maintain best practices.
  • Reinforce and adhere to safety programs, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and report any repair needs.
  • Notify management about any customer or employee incidents.
  • Report safety risks, illegal activities, and other issues as necessary.
  • Work cooperatively in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a calm, constructive, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with integrity regarding all customer and business information.
  • Follow instructions and seek help when challenges arise.
  • Provide support to diverse groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications Minimum
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to thrive in stressful situations.
  • Obtain a current food handler's permit upon employment.
  • Proficient knife handling skills.
Desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Knowledge of seafood preparation techniques.
  • Experience in a retail setting.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in a second language.
