• Foster a trusting and respectful atmosphere among associates.
• Welcome customers with warmth and appreciation, assisting them with inquiries about products in the department and throughout the store.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products to provide informed recommendations to customers.
• Advise customers on grocery items and specials to enhance their shopping experience.
• Ensure product quality by regularly checking freshness and reviewing sell‑by dates.
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise, ensuring customers receive fresh products as requested.
• Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay updated on current and future promotions.
• Follow food safety regulations and ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers.
• Promote safety by identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions to store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting any repair needs.
• Document customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks, including theft or fraud.
• Be prepared to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Strong communication skills.

• Experience in retail.
• Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
