Sales Associate - Cashier

• Be highly visible and actively engage with customers, providing exceptional assistance.
• Process transactions efficiently through the checkout lane, ensuring speed and accuracy.
• Understand and utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various payment methods including Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit Cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain integrity in cash handling by adhering to limits on cash shortages and overages.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sales items like Alcohol and Tobacco.
• Report any pricing discrepancies promptly.
• Stay updated on current promotions, seasonal offerings, and special ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and established safety procedures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance by reporting equipment needing repair.
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere that makes customers feel valued and appreciated, responding to product inquiries across the store.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, as well as company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity in all customer interactions.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to address customer concerns.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
• Be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Experience in customer service.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
