Position Overview

As a Store Sales Associate I, you will help create a positive shopping and donating experience for our customers while supporting daily store operations. This role focuses on customer service, cashiering, merchandising, donation support, and store upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

* Provide friendly, respectful customer service while representing The Salvation Army's mission

* Greet and assist shoppers and donors

* Process transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system

* Handle cash and credit transactions following TSA cash-handling policies

Store Operations & Merchandising

* Open, close, and balance cash drawers as assigned

* Stock merchandise, straighten racks, and maintain sales floor organization

* Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and replenished

* Follow all policies regarding the pricing and sale of donated goods

Teamwork & Scheduling

* Work collaboratively with team members and store leadership

* Support store productivity benchmarks and sales goals

* Maintain availability for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays

Qualifications

Education & Experience

* High school diploma or currently pursuing one

* Retail, customer service, or cashier experience preferred

Skills &

Physical Requirements

* Basic computer and cash-handling skills

* Strong communication and customer service skills

* Ability to stand for extended periods

* Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs

* Comfortable working in an environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes
