- Pay Range: $25.68–$28.31 per hour
- Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

- Project Management
:
A) Manages Voluntary Cleanup Program projects as assigned by the Unit Manager on environmentally contaminated sites.
B) Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates investigative and monitoring data/activities and guides remedial progress.
C) Evaluates status of all sites and addresses stalled projects.
D) Coordinates project management with other bureaus, programs, and regulatory entities.
E) Interacts with voluntary parties, consultants, and the public to facilitate site investigations and cleanups.
F) Communicates significant project aspects to the chain of command. G) Issues the No Further Action Determination within 60 days of completion of all activities (e.g., well plugging). - Technical Document Reviews
:
A) Provides thorough, quality reviews of project‑specific technical documents with a decision in an average of 30 calendar days and keeps the Unit Manager informed weekly when a document exceeds 60 days.
B) Ensures documents are completed within policies, procedures, and program quality management plan.
C) Documents reviews through KEIMS and written correspondence.
D) Ensures electronic and hard copies of communications and documents are submitted to the Administrative Record File. - Field Work/Oversight
:
A) Provides field oversight and regulatory management.
B) Conducts a minimum of two field audits per year.
C) Performs quality assurance/quality control sampling.
D) Understands and follows the Quality Management Plan and annually reviews such documents.
E) Implements field work safely and consistently with agency policies.
- Education
:
High School or GED. - Licensing & Certification
:
Valid driver’s license. - Minimum Qualifications
:
Four years of experience in environmental science with an emphasis on biology, chemistry, geology, or related natural science. - Preferred Qualifications
:
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; proofreading, editing, attention to detail; good communication skills; one year of environmental/geology experience.
- Pass a physical within six months of hire that certifies the employee can work in the necessary protective gear.
- Obtain a valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate within ten days of a job offer.
