- Perform troubleshooting and skilled mechanical work on Automotive, HD Truck, Ready Mix, Mining, Construction, Supporting Equipment, and related components, including:
- gas and diesel engines, fuel systems
- electrical, air, hydraulic systems
- transmissions
- cooling systems
- chassis
- brakes
- general maintenance (tire repair, cleaning)
- Work on equipment with minimal supervision
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and demonstrate proper handling of company tools
- Interact with Shop Foreman and other mechanics/service personnel as necessary to complete work
- Follow safe work practices and procedures, using safety equipment, following Company, OSHA, MSHA and DOT/FMCSA rules and regulations in repair and maintenance of equipment
- Stay abreast of new technology by participating in training and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other members of management
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on mechanical equipment repair experience, a graduate of vocational diesel courses, or related experience.
- Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
- Must be able to follow instructions in verbal and/or written form.
- Computer and electronic diagnostic experience.
- CDL preferred.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather.
- Ability to lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
