Reefer Technician – Overview

Responsible for all aspects of repair to the transportation refrigeration units, including engine and power plant service, refrigeration service, and electrical system repairs.

• Perform selected repairs on equipment including both truck and trailer mounted, single and multi‑temp reefer units.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area and environment—cleaning shop equipment, floors, and fluid containment areas.
• Possess and use adequate hand tools required to perform routine repairs and maintenance.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the shop manager.

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of automotive, refrigeration, and/or maintenance experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and approval to drive per Fleet Safety Program.
• Minimum age 18 and eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have current EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Type II) or the ability to obtain one.
• Preferred:
  Technical school training and Commercial Driver’s License.
