Econ Engineering is the UK's largest supplier of winter maintenance vehicles, known for innovative and reliable fleet solutions. We are expanding and seeking a Mobile HGV Technician based from home, covering surrounding counties, to support our mission of delivering high‑quality service.

As a Mobile HGV Technician you will maintain and service our fleet of modern winter maintenance vehicles. Your primary responsibilities include routine maintenance, repairs, and breakdown assistance. Experience with Mercedes and DAF trucks and holding an HGV Class 2 license or equivalent is highly beneficial. We provide comprehensive product training to ensure you’re fully equipped.

• Breakdown and Repair Services – Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Fault Diagnosis and Repair – Accurately diagnose problems using supplied diagnostics equipment and perform necessary repairs, maintaining high safety and efficiency standards.
• Preventative Maintenance – Conduct preventative maintenance and routine servicing following manufacturer recommendations.
• Documentation – Use a tablet to complete all necessary paperwork accurately, keeping maintenance records up‑to‑date and accessible.
• Equipment – You will be equipped with a high‑specification van containing specialised tools and diagnostics equipment, with additional training and support from our manufacturing facilities and local team.

This role requires flexibility, particularly during winter months when demand increases. The primary call‑out season runs from early October to the end of April. During the summer months work may include preparing the fleet for the upcoming winter and may involve sites in surrounding areas as agreed.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining HGV/PSV, with prior mobile HGV technician experience a plus. You are proactive, an experienced commercial vehicle engineer, comfortable with flexible hours, and committed to high standards in vehicle servicing and customer support.
