Responsible for safe and secure transportation of KSi product/equipment.
May be on the road 4 to 5 nights per week.
Duties- Responsible for adhering to DOT regulations atall times while driving:
These include (but are not limitedto):
Accurately and honestly filling out log book,performing “Daily Vehicle Inspection Report”, and reporting any and all roadside inspections and vehicle defects to management - Willingness to stay inKSi Transportation provided sleeper cab all nights while onthe road;
- Exception is when on34 hour restart away from home base
- Understands and carries out instructions given orally and inwriting, including those on BOL’s, manifests, and other shipping documents to determine location and time of delivery
- Responsible to take “ownership” of vehicle: making sure oil changes and other preventative services are done in a timely manner
- Ensure a safe environment for employees and the general public
- Loading/Unloading of products at customer site and KSiplant
- Responsible for checking loads for safety and security before leaving site
- Responsible for having customer representative sign off that they have received equipment/product that was delivered and returning this paperwork to supervisor
- Reports all incidents involving driver or company equipment promptly and accurately. This includes any moving violations receive din both CMV and personal vehicle.
- Performs roadside inspections as required by thelaw.
- Maintain professionalism infront of customer at all times
- Set up and install conveyor undercarriages and other miscellaneous equipment at customer sites
- Set up and tear down of KSi equipment at company sponsored events and shows
- Sitting in avehicle for long periods of times
- Work in adverse weather conditions without temperature or environmental controls at times
- Willingness to help other departments when/ifneeded
- Always keeps tractor and trailers in a clean condition
- 2 or more years of experience driving under DOT standards is preferred
- At least 23 years old, according to FMCSA’sstandards
- No more than 1 moving violation in the past 12 months, 3 moving violations withinthe past 3 years, and no more than 1 not at fault accident within the past 3 years
- Nomajor violations in the past 3 years:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol ordrugs
- Leaving the scene of an accident
- Driving while license is suspended or revoked
- Reckless driving (failure to control, negligent or careless driving)
- Other serious violations (i.e. habitual violators, speeding inexcess of 15 mph over limit)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to self-manage and use time efficiently and responsibly
