Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary

Kforce's client, a growing manufacturing organization located in the Lawrence, MA area, is seeking to hire a Senior Cost Accountant. The role focuses on cost accounting, financial analysis, inventory management, and business partnering. It offers the opportunity to influence operational performance, support strategic decision-making, and gain exposure across a large finance organization. • Manage standard costing processes, including materials, labor, overhead, outside processing, and yield analysis
• Oversee inventory valuation, physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory controls
• Lead monthly close activities related to inventory, WIP, reserves, manufacturing variances, and production reporting
• Analyze revenue, costs, gross margins, and operational performance metrics
• Perform warranty and reserve analyses and ensure appropriate financial reporting
• Support SOX compliance, internal controls, audits, and process improvements
• Develop financial models and reporting tools to support business decisions and profitability initiatives
• Conduct ad‑hoc reporting and analysis using SAP and other ERP systems
• Assist with forecasting, capital planning, and ERP system implementations
• Partner with operations and leadership teams to identify efficiencies and drive continuous improvement

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and ERP systems
• Experience with SAP preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
