We are seeking a visionary Design Director to serve as the creative compass for our studio. You will not just be pushing pixels; you will be architecting comprehensive brand identities, defining the overarching visual strategy for our top-tier client accounts, and elevating the output of our entire creative team. You will lead design presentations, gracefully defend creative choices to stakeholders, and ensure every deliverable aligns with our studio’s rigorous standards.

• Set the Creative Strategy: Develop the visual framework and conceptual direction for full-scale brand identity packages and high-stakes digital products.
• Lead & Mentor the Team: Conduct weekly design critiques, provide 1-on-1 mentorship to Lead, Graphic, and UI/UX designers, and foster a culture of creative excellence and psychological safety.
• Client Direction & Pitching: Lead creative kickoff calls, present major design milestones to clients, and navigate complex feedback loops to ensure client delight without scope creep.
• Drive System Architecture: Standardize our internal design systems, component libraries in Figma, and template structures to dramatically increase studio efficiency without sacrificing bespoke quality.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Partner closely with the Marketing Director and Studio Manager to ensure all creative output aligns with broader business and operational goals.

• 8+ years of experience in senior design, art direction, or creative direction within an agency, studio, or high-growth startup environment.
• An elite portfolio demonstrating absolute mastery of typography, layout, complex branding systems, and modern digital product design.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and rapid prototyping workflows.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of hiring, retaining, and elevating the work of junior and mid-level designers.
• Exceptional presentation skills—you know how to tell a story with design and get stakeholders to buy into your vision.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to support our diverse client base in Lawrence and beyond.

• Experience scaling a small boutique agency into a mid-sized powerhouse.
• A background in motion design or 3D rendering.

$120,000–$150,000/yr base salary, plus annual profit-sharing, performance bonuses tied to studio growth, comprehensive health benefits, and a generous hybrid work flexibility.
