Breast Surgeon

Position Summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine are jointly recruiting a breast surgeon. We are seeking a surgeon who is fellowship trained in breast surgery and/or surgical oncology, or who has had significant clinical experience as a breast surgeon. Candidates must be board‑certified or board‑eligible. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach to patient care.

In addition to providing the highest quality care across the full spectrum of breast disease, the surgical oncology team prioritizes the training, education, and mentorship of residents and medical students, and improving care through original research.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in breast surgery. Additional interest in other areas of surgical oncology and/or general surgery is welcomed but not required. Leadership opportunities exist for the appropriate candidate. The successful candidate will join a team in the Section of Surgical Oncology that includes six surgeons and four advanced practice providers.

Boston University conducts a background check on all final candidates for certain faculty and staff positions. The background check includes contacting the final candidate’s current and previous employer(s) to ask whether, in the last seven years, there has been a substantiated finding of misconduct violating that employer’s applicable sexual misconduct policies. To implement this process, the university requires a final candidate to complete and sign the form entitled “Authorization to Release Information” after execution of an offer letter.
