Position Summary:

The Classroom Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. As a SPED ILP Teacher, your area of expertise will be used to enrich the academic lives of the students of Leahy Elementary School.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in their classroom - consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.

* Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.

* Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals and provide specific and actionable feedback to students on their progress towards academic goals.

* Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.

* Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Prior experience teaching in this area is preferred.

* Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.

* Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Massachusetts Teacher Certification in appropriate area.

* Proficient in English.

* Bachelor's Degree Required

* Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Pay Range

* $56,415-$84,063
