Spark Academy in Lawrence, MA, seeks excellent teachers committed to growth and student success. The innovative public school, part of Lawrence Public Schools, offers a nurturing environment with a strong, values-based culture. Teachers will work 180 days a year, with 5‑8 professional development sessions per school year and additional PD on approximately 19 Tuesdays.

• Serve as a positive, motivating force in the classroom, consistently encouraging students to learn.
• Design, implement, and collaborate on high‑quality shared curricula that incorporate research‑based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
• Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class‑wide and individual goals and providing specific, actionable feedback.
• Build supportive relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
• Engage in weekly professional development and intensive coaching with administration and colleagues, embracing a growth mindset to improve instruction, curriculum, and management.
• Adopt school‑wide systems to ensure consistency within the learning community and smooth transitions between classes and grades (e.g., writing practices, annotation strategies, behavior system).
• Use the school‑wide behavior system to establish classroom culture, consistent routines, and high expectations, minimizing lost learning time.
• Build trusting relationships with students and families in an advisory setting of up to 14 students, supporting deeper understanding of school values:
  Seeking Justice, Perseverance, Active Living, Reason, and Kindness.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
