Position: Teacher of the Deaf in Lawrence, MA
Step into a contract role shaping the future for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a supportive school environment near Lawrence, MA. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a dedicated educator passionate about creating accessible, engaging learning experiences for a diverse age range-serving learners from PreK through age 22. This position is for the full 26/27 school year, offering a meaningful impact with a flexible schedule of 16-18 hours per week.

Desired Background &

Qualifications:
  • Valid Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students across ages and varied communication needs.
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum for auditory access.
  • Strong skills in facilitating communication development-spoken language, ASL, or total communication.
  • Commitment to collaboration with general educators, families, and related service staff.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodations for students with hearing loss.
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, focusing on language, academic skills, and self-advocacy.
  • Develop and implement strategies that support auditory access and inclusive learning.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation as required.
  • Consult with school teams to foster an inclusive and accessible environment.
  • Communicate with families to support student growth and address needs.
