Core
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Co-Teach 4 sections
* Teach one Academic Reinforcement class
* Support teachers by providing accommodation and/or modification to the curriculum for students eligible for special education.
* Work to ensure the rights of students with disabilities to be full participants in the general curriculum.
* Implement state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to special education.
* Participate in the development of and oversees implementation of IEPs for students eligible for special education.
* Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
* Implement common assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
* Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction
* Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary cohort.
* Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.
* Act as advisor to a group of 8-15 students.
* Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral progress.

* Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students' diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected and utilized.
* Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback
* Humility and a good sense of humor
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
* Appropriate Massachusetts DESE licensure required-this includes a passing score on the Communication and Literacy - Skills test and a passing score on the relevant subject matter knowledge test(s).
* Teachers should hold an SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement.
* A minimum of two years teaching experience in a school setting serving a similar demographic preferred, but not required.
* Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Pay Range:
* In accordance with the Lawrence Teachers' Union. ($61,788 - $94,614)
