Position Summary:

Parthum Middle School is seeking exceptional Middle School Science teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Teach sections of middle school English

* Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks

* Implement common assessments to measure progress toward academic standards

* Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform and adapt instruction

* Meet weekly with grade-level content and interdisciplinary teams

* Collaborate with Special Education and ESL staff to differentiate instruction for diverse learners

* Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve practice

* Serve as an advisor to a group of 8-15 students

* Communicate weekly with students and families regarding academic and behavioral progress

* Contribute to school culture and support school-wide events and expectations

* Uphold high expectations for student achievement and behavior

* Experience working with English Language Learners

* Ability to maintain focus and calm in a fast-paced, dynamic school setting

* Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

* Ability to develop a positive and respectful classroom community

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred

* Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in English, 5-12

* SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required

* Passing scores on the Communication and Literacy Skills test and relevant subject matter knowledge tests

* At least two years of experience teaching in a similar setting preferred

* Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Pay Range

* $61,788 - $94,614
