Job Title: Grade 2 Teacher – (SY 26-27)
Reports to: Principal
Location: Tarbox School, Lawrence Public Schools
Job Type: Full-Time Salary
Position SummaryThe Tarbox School is seeking a Grade 2 Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The ideal candidate believes all students can learn and has experience with co‑teaching and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices.
- Teach core content classes in a self‑contained classroom/homeroom: ELA (CKLA), Mathematics (Eureka), Science, and Social Studies.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using instructional technology.
- Show cultural competency and commitment to serving a diverse student population.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff.
- Reflect on practice and implement feedback.
- Attend IEP, 504, student support, and team meetings.
- Participate in grade‑level and content vertical planning meetings.
- Participate in Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. school‑wide positive behavior support protocols.
- Experience collaborating with social service agencies.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Proficient in English; bilingual candidates preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid Massachusetts DESE Early Childhood (Pre‑K‑2) teaching license.
- SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required.
- Experience teaching in urban public school settings preferred.
- Successful completion of all pre‑employment requirements.
- U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required.
- Salary range: $61,788 – $94,614.
All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of the required background check and availability of funding.
