The SPED MOD Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools, enriching the academic lives of Upper School Academy students through high‑quality instruction and collaboration.

• Serve as a strong, positive presence daily in the classroom, consistently motivating students to work hard and want to learn.
• Design, implement, and collaborate on shared curricula that incorporate research‑based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
• Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class‑wide and individual goals and providing specific, actionable feedback on progress towards academic goals.
• Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to develop associate teachers.
• Complete other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.

• Prior teaching experience in this area is preferred.
• Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment prioritizing learning for all students.
• Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction meets students’ needs.

• Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the appropriate area.
• Proficient in English.
• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
