Position SummaryLawrence Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all students successfully master the content and skills necessary to graduate from high school, college, and/or become career ready. The SPED MOD Teacher is a cornerstone of our district. In this role, your expertise will be used to enrich the academic lives of students at Frost Middle School.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in the classroom – consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.
- Design, implement, and collaborate around high‑quality shared curricula that incorporate research‑based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
- Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class‑wide and individual goals and providing specific and actionable feedback on progress toward those goals.
- Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
- Prior experience teaching in this area preferred.
- Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students.
- Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the appropriate area.
- Proficient in English.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Salary Range: $61,788 – $94,614.
