RISE Academy is seeking an exceptional Science teacher to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in their classroom – consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.
- Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
- Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals and providing specific and actionable feedback on their progress toward academic goals.
- Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
- Engage in weekly professional development and intensive coaching with administration and colleagues and embrace a growth mindset to actively improve instruction, curriculum, and management.
- Wholeheartedly embrace school-wide systems to ensure consistency within the school learning community and ensure smooth transitions between classes and grades for all students, e.g., school-wide writing practices, annotation strategies, behavior system.
- Use school-wide behavior system to establish strong classroom culture, consistent routines, and high expectations for students, ensuring that culture is uniform throughout the school and minimizing lost learning time.
- Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
- Active Massachusetts Teacher Certification with SEI Endorsement
- Proficient in English;
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred - Be a team player and a problem solver
- Have strong communication skills
- Be reliable and resilient
- Have experience in urban education
- Recognize and support the academic and social/emotional needs of each child
- Have the ability to create and effectively manage a positive classroom culture
- Be familiar with Restorative Justice Practices and other student-centered social-emotional approaches
- Have familiarity with Wonders ELA, Eureka Math, Inspire Science, and Impact Social Studies curriculum programs
- The hired candidate will be working in a self-contained classroom teaching all subject areas
- Bachelor's Degree required;
Master's Degree preferred - Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL preferred
- Current authorization to work in the United States

Pay Range$61,788 – $94,614
