Position SummaryThe SPED MOD Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. As a SPED MOD Teacher, your area of expertise will be used to enrich the academic lives of the students of Spark Academy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in your classroom – consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.
- Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research‑based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
- Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class‑wide and individual goals and provide specific and actionable feedback to students on their progress toward academic goals.
- Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
- Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
- Prior experience teaching in this area preferred.
- Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students.
- Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the appropriate area.
- Proficient in English.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
