Dean of Campus Engagement

The Dean of Campus Engagement promotes student growth, well-being, and connection by developing programs and support systems that foster engagement, leadership, accountability, and a sense of belonging. Working collaboratively with Student Life, Counseling, and Academic Support teams, the Dean provides individualized guidance to students, including informal counseling, social-emotional and mental health support, and the development of Student Engagement Plans to help students navigate significant transitions.

The Dean oversees student engagement initiatives, including study halls, community activities, and student leadership programs, while helping cultivate an inclusive community where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Provide evening counseling and mental health support to students, coordinating with the Dean of Support Services, consulting therapists, families, faculty, and other personnel as needed.
• Develop and oversee WHIKS programming, including supervising student volunteers in the Package Room and Student Store, and overseeing afternoon activities
• Develop and monitor individualized Student Engagement Plans for students returning from suspension, medical leave, mid-year admission, or other transitions.
• Contribute to the weekly Student Life parent newsletter.
• Manage student move-in and move-out logistics, including partnership with Boomerang Storage, and replacing student key cards
• Manage the Student Store and Package Room.
• Assist with planning and implementing Orientation Leader Training, New Student Orientation, and Registration Day.
• Support the planning and execution of Student Life events, including Prom, Spirit Week, CORE programming, and other community events.
• Partner with Student Life administrators to manage student discipline.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Head of School for Student Life.

• Participate in the evaluation and coaching of Student Life faculty.
• Supervise Student Life faculty during study hall, athletics, community programming, and other assigned activities.

• Thursday: 1:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. (to accommodate the administrative meeting)
• Friday: 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Experience in an independent school, boarding school, residential program, or higher education environment.
• Training or experience in mental health support, crisis intervention, restorative practices, or student conduct administration.
• Experience supervising staff, interns, student leaders, or peer mentor programs.
• Experience coordinating orientation programs, student leadership development, or community engagement programming.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and/or Mental Health First Aid.
